KENDRIA BROWN, M.Ed.

Director

Christian wife and mother of 4. Visionary, founder & lover of all things learning. Kendria is dedicated to providing the best education to all students and creating unique & diverse learning environments to prepare them for the 21st Century. She attended Pepperdine University & Sam Houston State University. Entering her 10th year in education, Kendria is a former Head Volleyball Coach, Social Studies Teacher from grades 2 - 12th grade, College and Career Mentor, & Homeschool Mother. She is passionate about helping students reach their academic goals and has always dreamed of having a school of her own. 

As a firm believer in Christ and his mission to spread the Gospel, Kendria truly is dedicated to preparing our children to be little lights of the world and start right in the direction with God first in their education.

SHI-KELA BANKS

3rd & 4th Grade Teacher

Shi-Kela Banks is a proud wife, and mother of four. Originally from Michigan, she obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 2005. She went on to achieve a master's degree in Education from Lesley University in 2009. Mrs. Banks is entering her fourteenth year in Education. She spent eight years working for the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) as a Kindergarten teacher and Interventionist for Kindergarten-4th grade. She spent the last five years working in the Houston Independent School District as a Fourth grade Math teacher and Instructional Excellence Coach. In this role, she helped to develop the instructional skills of beginning teachers through coaching conversations and instructional planning. Mrs. Banks believes “Teaching is a work of heart” and leads her classroom with 'grace and grit'. She is looking forward to building lasting relationships with families while supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth and development of the students at the Excellence Christian Academy!

ZONCERIA ALEXANDER

Pre-K/K Teacher

Native Houstonian and have had the pleasure of working with little people for 21years. Zonceria has worked with her mother's home childcare program A.L.A. Academy along with my 2 Aunts and godmother.  She loves children, her family, working with the church,  and my community (Civic Association). She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist and enjoys the arts, crafts, and real estate as well.

STEPHANIE PATTON

Pre-K/K Teacher

Over 20 years of Administrative and training skills with 1 1/2 years of homeschool experience in Pre-K and Kinder.  Stephanie has enjoyed teaching Pre-K because it's the start of the new beginning  through learning.  She enjoys teaching in a variety of ways through fun and interactive activities.  She also loves the outdoors and projects.

AUSTRALIA ALEXANDER

1st & 2nd Grade Teacher

Retired educator and founder of A.L.A Learning Academy. Proud mother, grandmother and woman of God with a heart of gold and full of passion to teach and nurture all of God's children.

ZIPPORAH CURRY

1st  & 2nd Grade Teacher

Newlywed and First time Mother, Homeschool Teacher,  Contracted Academic Specialist and former teacher of 1st, 3rd, 4th and 8th Grades.  Zipporah had 14 tutoring clients ranging from the age of 1 to 18 in her private tutoring program and helped grow all students academically in all subjects she assisted with. All of my students passed their STAAR exams even after many of them failed previously. Houston Academy top STAAR performance and top 5 in Aldine ISD for 6th grade. Helped students with disabilities transition from school to the work force by helping them with resume writing, social cues, interview skills, etc. SAT/ACT Prep for Boys and Girls Club. Passionate about teaching and helping all students achieve their goals. Zipporah was also the Step Dance Coach for the award winning Houston Academy LOD Step Team along side the late and great Lynn Brown. From 2017 until the start of the pandemic, I worked with a group of 30 5th and 6th grade girls, teaching them step routines that they performed all over Aldine and the Houston area.
